3rd-4th level Basic D&D
Premise: Characters descend the stairs into a crypt beneath a chapel (chapel not included).
What do we get here?
Seven pages cover a map and 13 keyed locations on a single level of a dungeon. There is no context for this dungeon, just the dungeon itself.
Usability/Formatting
I like that we get the map up front and it is a decent one with some loops so your players have plenty of choice on how to explore the dungeon.
The writing is to the point and explains the dungeon fairly well. We do not get fancy bullet points or bolding but for what is provided here it is not really needed. You could pick this up and run it very easily.
Where there are traps they are decently explained and you get some idea of how players would detect them. There are no dreaded read alouds so it is up to you to construct what to tell your players.
Portability
Given there is basically no context for this dungeon you can slot it in anywhere you like with ease. The downside is it lacks some personality, the magic items are generic and the level itself does not really tell a story.
Recommendation
If you have a need for a last second plug and play crypt beneath a chapel, or any other structure really, this is fine for dropping in. What you are not getting here is something you would build an adventure round or be enthusiastic about finding a way to fit into a campaign.
Given this is a free blog post you can not really argue too much with what you are getting.
