One page dungeon contest 2022
No game or level
Premise: Weird stuff is happening in the valley, small things are made big, big things are made small.
What do we get here?
A single page dungeon gives us 9 keyed locations.
Usability/formatting
As a piece of graphic design and art this is no doubt impressive, likely why it won the one page dungeon contest this year but how does it stack up for actual use at the table?
Praise out of the way I am not sure how useful this one page is to a referee. The isometric art is lovely, showing how gonzo the whole set up is.
Unfortunately the dungeon is a bit linear, you will also have to build out bits of it yourself. There is no clue anywhere for how to solve the final problem of the dungeon, you either guess it or do not.
I also found some of the text on the diagonal to be hard to scan through, you need a tablet or something you can tilt to read the text easier.
Portability
You could fit this in any isolated location and because you have to come up with the monster stats on your own anyway there is no impediment there either.
Recommendation
At best this is a starting point for an adventure rather than being an adventure itself. I can see why this won for the art alone, I would just like a bit more on the dungeon side before I would recommend this as a must run. PWYW for the whole collection on gumroad or stump up cash on drivethru.
