Chronicles of Artrusia: A1 The Goblins Lair

By Tony Garcia

Voxelhouse

OSR, levels 1-3

Premise: Goblins are raiding the local settlements, go sort it out.

What do we get here?

Over 8 pages we get a 7 room dungeon and the adventure around it.

Usability/formatting

Right up front the adventure tells us the DM is supposed to decide the treasure/magic items themselves. Come on now. We would not be using a pre-written adventure if we wanted to do this stuff ourselves now would we?

English is not the first language of the author so I am not going to pick up on the writing too much. Most of it gets the point across well enough and gives you the information you need so you can embellish to run the adventure yourself.

That being said you are going to be struggling to find a reason to want to run the adventure. Everything is horribly linear, both the overland section and the dungeon itself.

All in all this incredibly bland with little effort put into the adventure. There are a couple of elements that could have been interesting, such as there being rival parties in the area, however this is not followed up on.

 Portability

Sure you can plop this down anywhere if you should make the misfortune of deciding to run this adventure.

 Recommendation

I applaud the effort of putting out content in your second language however the content here is a massive issue not any problems with translation. It is pay what you want but I would just leave this one.
